Innovate v....."to introduce something new; to alter, make changes in anything established." In 1999, when the leading volleyball equipment companies were telling you to send back your heavy, dangerous steel net systems to be repainted, the engineers at Kalbree Sports were developing the "world's first carbon fiber volleyball net system." A truly great volleyball net system must combine lightweight, stiffness and durability. Heavy posts are difficult and dangerous to set up and transport. And, volleyball uprights that bend too much are impossible to adjust to the correct net height. The more tension that is applied to the net, the closer the poles come together and the lower the net is in the middle. You know the routine - take the system down and start over by putting the pin in a higher hole then pull the net down at an angle to achieve the correct height, at least for the time being. In addition, all metals have memory and will permanently bend as they are repeatedly stressed - which reduces the life and efficiency of the volleyball equipment. Carbon fiber is as strong as steel and lighter than aluminum and is the perfect replacement for outdated steel and aluminum volleyball equipment. And, unlike steel and aluminum, carbon fiber has no memory and will never permanently bend. Over the years, coaches, players, and staff members told us what they needed in the perfect volleyball net system. Carbon Fiber Volleyball Net System We are engineering purists but we realize that not every volleyball program needs or can afford the "world's best volleyball equipment." So the innovative engineers at Kalbree Sports have developed a "girl's and women's" net system that is incredibly lightweight (19 lbs) and as rigid and durable as steel. Remember that stiffness is critical to a quality and efficient volleyball net system and achieving the correct net height. When we developed the concept of using carbon fiber volleyball uprights, we tested every steel and aluminum net system to determine the amount of deflection on each design. The lightweight VB3000NS has the same deflection of 1.25" as the steel systems that weigh 65 lbs or more - compared to aluminum volleyball equipment that will bend more than 3". The system is pre-set at the girl's/women's net height of 7' 4 1/8" and includes a unique threaded bottom foot pad that offers a fine tuning height adjustment to accomodate for common variances in floor sleeve installations. We have also included our 26:1 ratio worm gear net winch with a Lifetime Warranty and also added sleek form fitting premium molded Duraskin safety padding in 16 school colors. Uprights have a special 3" bottom stem that fits in a 3" floor sleeve. Existing 3 1/2" and 4" sleeves can be easily retrofitted to accept our 3" uprights with specially extruded sleeve adapters that do not alter the integrity of the carbon fiber standards.
